THE TOUGHEST RACE IN TEXAS
WHAT: Puzzler mountain bike race.
WHEN: 8:00 am January 18, 2015 – 13, 35, and 50 mile individual mountain bike race and 50 mile relay
WHERE: The Bowen Ranch Round House in northeast El Paso, TX. Lat – 31°57’39.74″N Long – 106°26’33.60″W
The venue entrance is located 2.6 miles north of U.S. 54 on Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. (Farm to Market Road 3255) on the west side of the road. Drivers will be greeted by a large sign that reads BOWEN RANCH. Keep an eye out for the entrance when the road turns from 4 to 2 lanes.
Mountain bikers have 3 choices:
- 50 mile – 8:00 am start
- 35 mile – 8:10 am start
- 13 mile – Mini-Epic – 8:20 am start
Each course is considered EPIC by most mountain bikers’ standards with all distances riding to the far north end of the Franklin Mountain State Park. The 50 and the 35 make a large loop around the northern portion of the range. All cycling routes are the same as 2013.
